Island Songwriting Sessions

Island Songwriting Sessions is about making a space where creatives can come together to network, hone their craft and write songs. We are developing a collective that will support Songwriters, Singers, Musicians, Poets & Writers.

The Songwriting Sessions usually happen on the last Saturday of each month with the first being on the 31st May 2025.

What Happens at a Songwriting Session?

Each month there is a chosen theme to write about. The day starts at 10.30am at our Studio, we meet for a beverage of choice, introductions and conversation setting out what we hope to achieve. We aim to have 16 – 20 people at each session and writers will be sorted randomly into 4 groups to write their song.

Writing begins at 11.00am sharp to 13.30pm when we break for lunch until 2pm.

Each group then reconvenes to rehearse and refine their song. At approximately 2.45pm we have a circle session at which each Song is performed and recorded as first demos. These recordings are then shared with all particpants and over the coming weeks Songwriter Demos are produced of the songs. Each month we release an EP of these Demos on YouTube

Live Circle Sessions

Once a quarter we have a Live Circle Session in Gervins Bar Coalisland, this is Bluebird Cafe styled event where we play the last 3 EP’s live & acoustic low volume sssshhhh style. It is a cool intimate way to showcase the Songs written and the community that wrote them.

This is a chance for Friends and Family to come along to enjoy the music.
